3-DAY EXCURSION SMYRNI EPHESUS KOUSANTASI
Smyrna
Gathering at the customs of Chios and departure for Cesme, arrival in about 40 minutes. Panoramic tour of the city. We will see the Clock Tower in Konak Square which was built in 1901 by Sultan Abdul Hamid. We continue for the closed market of the City HISAR ONU. We will walk in the closed galleries of the Agora and Hani Abatzioglou. Visit to the historic elevator in Karadasi which was built in 1907. Stopover for food and accommodation at the hotel. We continue to Pounta and Kordelio (Karsigiaka) passing by Boutza and Bournova where we will wander the streets where time seems to have stopped in the former Greek Smyrna. In Kordelio we will walk on the beach of the city and we will admire the remaining Greek houses. Visit to the Hellenistic-Roman Agora which was built in the time of Alexander the Great. Return to the hotel and overnight.
Day 2 Ephesus - Kusadasi
After breakfast, we depart for Ephesus (approximately 80 km). Arrival and tour of the archeological site of Ephesus. We will be guided to the ruins of the glorious ancient city and we will walk on its beautiful cobbled boulevard. Visit and pilgrimage to the Tomb of the Virgin of Ephesus. After stopping for food. Departure for the village of Sirince, the village of the writer Didos Sotiriou where time has stopped in another era when the village was purely Greek. The well-known TV series "Damned Soils" was shot there. Departure for the cosmopolitan Kusadasi. Free time. Return to Smyrna. Overnight.
Day 3 Smyrna-Vourla-Alatsata
After breakfast free time in Smyrna and departure around 12:00 for Vourla where we will visit Seferis's house. Second stop in Alatsata to see old Greek houses renovated that give a special character. Departure for Cesme, boarding and return to Chios.
